Multi-Axis, Twin Spindle,
Twin Turret Turning Centres
Ideal machinery for the manufacture of highly
precise and complicated components are the Nakamura Tome TW
and WT range CNC Turning Centres operated by LMS Precision.
With Driven Tooling to both turrets, ‘C’ axis to
both spindles and two machines with 'Y' axis which allow drilling
and milling 40mm either side of center line, enabling the production
of complex parts in one hit. All are supported by FMB Turbo
Magazine bar feeds with a maximum bar Diameter of 65mm, the
Nakamuras are extremely efficient and accurate in terms of
both tolerance and surface finish.
They provide much reduced cycle times for the manufacture of
certain items providing obvious potential advantages to Customers
in terms of unit cost. |

CNC Sliding Head Turning
The CNC Sliding Head Lathes used by LMS Precision are the well
proven Citizen ‘ L’ series. Designed for medium to
large batch production of simple or complex parts, these machines
are designed to maintain component accuracy and close tolerances
while running continuously for long periods, including unmanned.
The L32 is equipped with a 'Cool Blaster' high pressure coolant
system which increases the machines efficiency by increased tool
life again a benefit to unmanned running. |

Twin Turret, Twin Spindle,
Automatic High-Speed Gantry Loading
Turning Centre
This Takisawa TT200G Twin Turret, Twin Spindle
Turning Centre provides simultaneous turning of identical, or
first and second, operations on twin spindles.
The automatic, magazine-fed, overhead high speed Gantry Loader
incorporates a turn-over device for the loading of first and
second operations onto the left hand or right hand spindle.
Twin linked Fanuc 21iT Control systems allow for individual programming
of first and second operations including appropriate chuck indexing
to accommodate components of irregular shape when reversed for
the second operation.
With a maximum chucking and turning diameter of 160mm, turning
length of 100mm and individual component weight of 4KG, the TT200G
offers much improved lead times for volume production of components
from Steel/Stainless Steel Billets or castings in Aluminium alloy
or similar materials. |

2-Axis Turning
For 2-Axis turning of billet material, LMS Precision uses
three Takisawa ‘TC’ range machines.
These machines allow us to manufacture highly accurate turned
components up to a maximum Diameter of 325mm with a maximum
component length of 510mm.
Shown right is the Takisawa TC 200 which has a Chuck capacity
of 210mm, a maximum turning Diameter of 310mm and a maximum
turning length of 307mm when fitted with a Tailstock. |
